Fri May 17, 2013
I've always felt that the demonization of bars (is "pub" a better name?) is part of the reason for drunk driving in the U.S. We should have a more European approach towards drinking establishments where one can easily walk to and from them--the corner pub. It could serve food, and you'd …

What's the economy's big problem? In a word: Washington
Fri Apr 26, 2013
From the article: "... households are apparently dipping into savings again to make up for the income lost to this year's payroll tax hike. Friday's report showed the savings rate dropped sharply to 2.6 percent from the 3.9 percent average rate last year." Wouldn't that be the savings rat …

Sun Apr 7, 2013
Can't speak for any of these services mentioned in the article, but what you intimate about downloading content securing your possesion even if the service removes it later certainly was not true for the book "1984" on Amazon Kindle. Amazon reached out and deleted it from everyone's devices.
Wal-Mart's staffing levels criticized over not-so-fresh groceries
Fri Apr 5, 2013
“'If you have rotten produce or out-of-date milk... then you don’t get forgiven,' Giblen said." Yep, that pretty much summarizes my experience shopping for fresh produce at Walmart. I can see plenty of staff putting out the vegetables--they just don't ever pull the spoiled stuff. & …
Facebook's (attempted) conquest of Android begins now
Thu Apr 4, 2013
From that article: "Many people will jump on board simply because they are tired of the mucked-up home-screen interfaces provided by the likes of Samsung, HTC and Motorola" Why? So they can opt for a mucked-up home-screen from FB? Give me a break. What people need is pure, un …
